In honor of their parent’s 50th wedding anniversary, the children of Willy and Geraldine Penner of Newton would like to say “Happy Anniversary,” a family news release stated.
The couple celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on April 4. Willy Penner and Geraldine Martin were married on April 4, 1958, by Laverne Loewen at Bessie Mennonite Brethren Church, Bessie, Okla. They will celebrate their anniversary with a family trip this summer. Willy retired as principal of Cimarron Elementary School, Cimarron, in 1998. Geraldine retired as a registered nurse from Western Plains Regional Hospital, Dodge City, in 1995.They are the parents of four children, Craig and Ronna Raber of Pampa, Texas, Ivan and Karen Penner of Peoria, Ariz., Leon and Kathy Penner of Wichita, and Carla Penner (deceased 1966) and eight grandchildren, Erin Raber, Kendra (Raber) Jackson, Luke Raber, Jared Penner, Marcus Penner, Alexandria Penner, Christopher Penner and Corinne Penner.
