Penners enjoy 50th wedding anniversary in the Bahamas

Al and Sue Penner celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary with their family March 15 through 20 in the Bahamas.

Sue and Al were married May 30, 1958, in Louisville, Ohio. They have resided in North Newton and Hutchinson these past 50 years. Al has and continues, on a consultative basis, to professionally work as a health-care executive in both the hospital and continuing care communities.

Sue, in addition to her household/family responsibilities, continues to coordinate the work of their family’s accounting practice. Both Sue and Al have and continue to serve on church, community, state and national boards and committees.

Their three children, spouses and each one of their seven grandchildren joined them on Paradise Island for the celebration. They are Keith and Sharon Penner, Jacob and Isaac, of Newton; Connie and Jerl Banning, Adam, Brooke and Abby, of Lenexa; and Kevin and Marlene Penner, Canyon and Sienna, of Goshen, Ind.
