Haettens to celebrate 50th wedding anniversary

Carl and Betty Haetten of Halstead are celebrating their 50th wedding anniversary Aug. 14.
They are celebrating with a reception, hosted by their children, from 2 to 4 p.m. Aug. 15 at the United Methodist Church in Halstead.
They married on Aug. 14, 1960, in Ree Heights, S.D.
Carl retired in 1996 as the elementary school principal in Halstead after 36 years in education. Betty retired in 2003 as an officer at The Halstead Bank after working 23 years.
They have four children, Robin Harms (Brian) of Edmond, Okla., Vincent Haetten (Shelly) of Halstead, Tamara Zillig (Tom) of Overland Park and Todd Haetten (Michelle) of Wichita. They have seven grandchildren.
