HALSTEAD — Clifford and Irene Sommerfeld of Halstead are celebrating their 40th wedding anniversary on Aug. 28.
They are celebrating with a reception from 2 to 4 p.m. at Zion Lutheran Church, 225 S. Poplar St. in Newton. It will be hosted by their children.
Clifford and Irene were married on Aug. 8, 1970.
They have four children: Dennis (Alice) Sommerfeld of Kansas City, Mo., Sandra (Allen) Wilson of Kansas City, Mo., Linda (Jim) Bew of Sewalls Point, Fla., and Trudee (Lance) Thornhill of North Richland Hills, Texas. They have five grandchildren and three great-grandsons.
Clifford retired from Hesston Corp., and Irene retired from Irene’s Jewelry in Halstead. They request no gifts, please.
