Dody couple to celebrate 60th wedding anniversary

Don and Betty Dody of Newton are celebrating their 60th wedding anniversary on Aug. 7.
They will celebrate this special occasion with their family in Wichita.
Don and Betty were married on Aug. 6, 1950, at First United Methodist Church in Bucklin. Don retired in 1982 as a Kansas State trooper after 26 years of service. Betty operated Candy Cane Corner Day Care Center for 30 years and now works part time at Sunshine Academy.
They have three children, Terry of Manhattan, Susan in Wichita and Judy in Olathe. They have eight grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
